Golden Dragon - West Haven: Top-Rated Chinese Takeout with Friendly Service and Generous Portions

Easily our favorite Chinese takeout in the area! Honestly, some of the best Chinese food we've had. We get the sesame chicken and fried rice and both are soooo good. The portions are big and the prices are reasonable. Plus the guy at the counter is always super nice and friendly! Highly recommend checking it out.

Was looking for some good city style Chinese food. Great choice and great price too. The male at the counter was very polite. Chicken wings and pork fried rice was good as well as shrimp and broccoli. I did have to call twice to place the order but in person he explained that sometimes they can't get to the phone because its busy and they don't want to neglect or rush the orders they are preparing. I respect that. Good food!

We have gone to several Chinese restaurants in the area and Golden Dragon tops all of the restaurants. The food was delicious and the staff were wonderful with beautiful spirits. The young lady at the counter greeted us with a beautiful smile, she noticed that I was amazed and loved all of the plants that she gave me a piece of one of the plants so I can plant it. This is going to be our FAVORITE CHINESE spot.

My bf & I found out about this place, around 5 months ago.. We absolutely love it, cooked with care. Totally recommend.

We’ve been searching for a new local spot and we’re so happy we found Golden Dragon! I scoured reviews because I did not want anything sketchy. Can’t say much for outside, besides how busy it is. Everything was delicious! We got Beef lo mein, General Tso’s combo, Beef & Broccoli combo and crab rangoons. (Close up of the chicken, it’s more chicken than breading!) It was phenomenal, fresh and good portions. We will definitely eat here again and can’t wait to try different things! My husband was very impressed as well, and he can be picky with Chinese food. I took a star from service because they don’t answer the phone. Best to walk in and order, read that from another review, glad I did because I may have given up after calling a few times. Very friendly guy at the counter though! I’m also in love with all the beautiful and happy plants they have throughout their waiting area. Highly recommend!

Wonderful store. Very generous portions and the owners are outstandingly friendly!! Food quality is also great, not greasy or poorly cooked or anything. Only possible drawback is they do takeout only, but most people myself included usually just do that anyway, so to me it's a total non-factor. Definitely give them your business
